Title:
ALUMINUM ALLOY FOR FORGING
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3471421
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain an aluminum alloy for forging, excellent in mechanical properties, such as tensile strength, proof stress, and elongation.
CONSTITUTION: This aluminum alloy for forging is subjected to component designing so that it contains 0.6-3.0% Si, 0.2-2.0% Mg, 0.3-1.0% Cu, 0.01-0.1% Ti, 0.0001-0.01% B, 0.1-0.5% Mn, 0.1-0.5% Cr, and 0.05-0.5% Fe and the amount of Mg2Si expressed in terms of alloy design value becomes ≥1.5% or the amount of Si, excluding the Mg2Si equivalent expressed in terms of alloy design value, becomes ≥0.5%. This aluminum alloy is cast at ≤200°C/sec cooling rate and then forged at 10-50% upsetting ratio.
