PURPOSE: To obtain an Al alloy material excellent in strength, electric conductivity, and heat resistance by incorporating specific amounts of at least one element among C, 0, and N into Al powder by means of mechanical alloying and then subjecting the resulting Al alloy powder to solidification, forming, and annealing.
CONSTITUTION: A powder of an Al alloy containing at least one element among C, O, and N by 0.01-7wt.% is prepared by subjecting a pure Al powder to mechanical alloying in an atmosphere containing at least one kind among C-, N-, and 0-adding materials, such as Al4C3, AlN, and Al2O3, or containing alcohol, O2 gas, or N2 gas containing C, 0, and N, respectively. By the above mechanical alloying, the Al alloy powder having a structure in which grains are finely dispersed in a state of grain diameter as small as 0.01-2μm is formed, and this powder is hermetically sealed in a capsule, etc., and heated and extruded to undergo solidification and forming, followed by annealing at 350-450°C. By this method, the lightweight Al alloy material having high strength and high heat resistance can be produced without deteriorating the superior electric conductivity of Al.
