Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aluminum alloy made rim in a wheel for a vehicle which has no color tone difference between a joining part and a base material and has an excellent exterior appearance, and a manufacturing method thereof.
SOLUTION: When the rim is formed by processing a tube body obtained by forming a joining part 16 by friction stirring and joining of butting parts 14 of both ends of a 5000 series aluminum alloy plate material processed into a cylindrical shape, it is constituted so that each average value of the maximum lengths of the crystalline grains of the joining part 16 and the base material part 18 is set 10-300 μm by heating at a temperature not lower than the re- crystallization temperature of a 5000 series aluminum alloy and a ratio of the former average value and the latter one is within the range of 10:1-1:10.
