Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aluminum alloy sheet for can barrels, DI-molded into a can barrel excellent in piercing resistance and can expansibility even when thinned by coating a protective layer consisting of a resin on both surfaces.SOLUTION: The aluminum alloy sheet having a sheet thickness of 0.26-0.36 mm is manufactured by melting and casting an aluminium alloy containing Mg of 1.6-6.0 mass%, Mn of less than 0.5 mass%, Si of 0.05-0.5 mass%, Fe of 0.1-0.5 mass%, Cu of 0.05-0.3 mass% and the remainder consisting of Al and inevitable impurities to form an ingot, homogenizing the ingot by one heat treatment at 450°C or more and less than 550°C, hot-rolling the ingot at the total rolling ratio of 99.2% or more without cooling and cold-rolling the resultant sheet without annealing. In a central portion of a cross section in the sheet thickness direction, an area ratio of an intermetallic compound having the maximum length of 1 μm or more is more than 0.3% and less than 1.3%, and the number density of an intermetallic compound having the maximum length of 11 μm or more is 100 pieces/mmor less.SELECTED DRAWING: None
