Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a molten metal improved in flowability of molten metal and property of run and to produce a thin aluminum alloy casting by preparing an aluminum alloy having a specific composition containing specific amounts of B.
CONSTITUTION: An aluminum alloy having a composition consisting of, by weight, 0.1-20.0% Si, 0.1-5.0% Cu, 0.1-10.0% Mg, 0.0005-0.0100% Be, and the balance Al with impurities is prepared. A molten metal of this aluminum alloy has superior flowability of molten metal and property of run, and a thin casting can easily be produced by performing gravity casting, low pressure casting, die casting, squeeze casting, etc.
