Abstract:

To provide an aluminum-ceramic composite having a low coefficient of thermal expansion, high thermal conductivity, and high strength.

The aluminum-ceramic composite is obtained by impregnating an alloy containing aluminum as a main component into a ceramic porous body comprising at least two kinds selected from silicon carbide, silicon nitride, aluminum nitride, boron nitride and silicon dioxide. Preferably, the ceramic porous body is an aluminum-ceramic composite composed of 70-95 vol.% silicon carbide and the balance being silicon nitride or an aluminum-ceramic composite containing ≥30 vol.% boron nitride.
