An aluminum melting holding furnace includes: an outer tank 3 comprising a heat insulation refractory material; an inner tank 5 arranged so as to have a space 7 between the outer tank 3 and itself and comprising a heat insulation refractory material; a high output electric heater 8 arranged in the space 7; and an immersion electric heater 12 arranged in the inner tank 5. An aluminum ingot, which is conveyed in the inner tank 5, is melted by heating of the high output electric heater 8, and melting aluminum in the inner tank 5 is held by heating of the immersion electric heater 12.
