Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily separate and recover mercury and mercury-soluble precious metals from amalgam.SOLUTION: An amalgam separator includes: a container body 10 which mounts amalgam 1 in which mercury-soluble precious metals are bonded to mercury; a lid part 15 which is mounted to the container body 10 to form a dome-shaped closed space in association with the container body 10; a mercury gas discharge pipe 20 which extends outward from the top of the lid part 15 and then bends down; and a cooling tube 21 which cools a mercury gas flowing down through the mercury gas discharge pipe 20 to condense it as mercury. By heating the container body 10, the mercury and the mercury-soluble precious metals can be separated from each other.
