To provide an amide compound-decomposing method and a nitrile decomposing method which can efficiently decompose amide compounds and nitrile.
The amide compound-decomposing method comprises a process for applying amidase treatment to an amide compound-containing solution. The amidase treatment is carried out by using a microorganism having an amidase activity or an amidase-containing material derived from the microorganism. It is preferable that the microorganism is Rhodococcus sp. strain NITEP-79. The nitrile decomposing method applies nitrile hydratase treatment and the amidase treatment to a nitrile-containing solution. The nitrile hydratase treatment is carried out by using a microorganism having a nitrile hydratase activity or a nitrile hydratase-containing material derived from the microorganism.
