NEW MATERIAL:A compound expressed by formula I [R1 is 1-4C alkyl; R2 is 3-6C alkyl or R2 and R1 form (lower alkyl-substituted)1-pyridinyl, 1-piperidinyl, 4-morpholinyl or 1-piperazinyl] and acid addition salt thereof.
EXAMPLE: 3,4,5-Trimethoxy-N-{4-[2-(1-pyrrolidinyl)ethoxy]benzyl} benzamide.
USE: A medicine. The compound expressed by formula I has excellent alimentary canal motion activating action and is useful as a improver of various kind of alimentary indefinite complaint symptoms accompanying lowering of gastric tube motion function.
PREPARATION: 3,4,5-Trimethoxybenzoic acid expressed by formula II is converted to reactive derivative thereof such as an acid chloride with thionyl chloride and an amine compound expressed by formula III containing a novel compound is reacted in the presence or absence of a base such as triethylamine in an inert organic solvent such as chloroform to provide the compound expressed by formula I.
