To provide a novel separation reagent which can achieve a high extraction rate of rhodium, a method for separation/collection of a platinum group metal using the same, and also an amide-containing tertiary amine compound relating to extraction/separation of rhodium of a chlorine-containing acid solution.
An organic phase containing an amide-containing tertiary amine separation reagent represented by the structural formula of formula (1) is contacted with an acid solution containing a platinum group metal to extract rhodium, platinum and palladium into the organic phase. The organic phase having the metals extracted therein is contacted with a concentrated hydrochloric acid solution to back-extract rhodium into an aqueous solution selectively. The organic phase is further contacted with a concentrated nitric acid solution to back-extract palladium and platinum. In formula (1), at least one or all of R1, R2 and R3 represents a predetermined amide group, the remainder of R1 to R3 other than the amide group represents a group selected from a linear 1-18C hydrocarbon group which may be branched, a 3-10C alicyclic hydrocarbon group, and a 6-14C aromatic hydrocarbon group.
