Title:
AMINE COMPOUND
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2000191606
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To provide a new amine compound having excellent characteristics as a hole-injection transfer material, etc., of an organic electroluminescent element.

The objective compound is expressed by formula I {Ar1 to Ar are each a (substituted)aryl [at least one of the groups is a (substituted) naphthyl]; R1 and R2 are each an alkyl or a (substituted)aralkyl}, e.g. 9,9- dimethyl-2,7-bis[N-(1'-naphthyl)-N-phenylamino]fluorene. The objective compound can be produced by carrying out Ullmann reaction of a compound of formula II (X1 and X2 are each a halogen) with a compound of formula III and a compound of formula IV in the presence of e.g. a copper compound such as metallic copper powder and anhydrous potassium carbonate in o-dichlorobenzene at 190°C for about 8 hr, cooling the reaction product to about 100°C, filtering the hot solution, adding methanol to the filtrate and filtering and drying the precipitated solid.
