PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a non-toxic, biodegradable, and biocompatible lipid which can be used for transfecting nucleic acid and can be easily prepared efficiently and economically.SOLUTION: A nitrogen-containing lipid prepared by conjugate-adding an amine to an acrylate or acrylamide or by otherwise conjugating carbon-carbon double bonds with electron-attractive groups is mentioned. A preparation method of such a lipid from a commercially sold starting material is also provided. Such an amine-containing lipid or a salt form of the lipid is preferably biodegradable and biocompatible and can be used for various chemical delivery systems. These lipids are especially suitable for the delivery of polynucleotide because of the amino segments thereof. Composites or nanoparticles including the lipid of the present invention and polynucleotide are prepared. The lipid of the present invention can, furthermore, be used for preparing particulates for delivering chemicals. They are especially useful for delivering unstable chemicals in consideration of their capacities of buffering the pH of an ambient environment.
