PURPOSE: To obtain an amino resin molding material having excellent dimensional stability and resistance to cracking in a insert molding, by blending fine particles of a specified polymer with an amino resin and a base material for an amino resin molding material.
CONSTITUTION: A molding material consists of fine polymer particles (I) obtd. by suspension-polymerizing a polymerizable monomer in the presence of protective colloid in an aq. medium, mixing a resulting polymer suspension with an amino compd./formaldehyde precondensate and an acid catalyst and heat-treating the mixture, an amino resin (II) and a base material (III) for an amino resin molding material. It is preferred to use a polymerizable monomer capable of imparting rubberg properties to the resulting polymer as the main component in order to impart cushioning properties such as hair crack resistance or impact resistance in addition to dimensional stability and resistance to insert cracking.
