To obtain a new dyestuff consisting of a specific cationic azo dyestuff, useful for dyeing and printing of polymeric materials, and having characteristics such as an excellent light fastness, a high color depth and an affinity to fibers.
This aminobenzoic acid cationic dyestuff is a compound of formula I [(n) is 0-8; R1 is H, a 1-6C alkyl or the like; R2, R3 are each H, a 1-6C alkyl or the like; K is a group of a coupling component; A is oxy, imino or a (substituted) 1-6C alkylimino; B is 1-2 non-adjacent oxys or the like; Q1 to Q3 are each H, 1-4 non-adjacent oxys, imino or the like; An is an anion], e.g. 6,6'-diamino bis(2-dimethylaminoethyl)-3,3'-methylenebis benzoate. To obtain the dyestuff of formula I, an amine of formula II is diazotized and the product is coupled with a coupling component KH.
