NEW MATERIAL:A compound expressed by formula I or acid-added salt of said compound (for R2a and R3a are simultaneously H, -Xa-R1a is n-butyl, cyclohexyl or benzyl, etc.; R2a is H and -Xa-R1a is benzyl and R3a is methyl, or -Xa-R1a and R3a and simultaneously phenyl; R3a is H and -Xa-R1a and R2a are ethyl, -Xa-R1a and R2a are n-butyl, or -Xa-R1a is benzyl and R2a, etc.; etc.).
EXAMPLE: 1-amino-3-benzylguanidine.
USE: Inhibitor of Maillard reaction. Useful for remedy of various complication of diabetes mellitus or disease induced by senescence, etc.
PREPARATION: A compound expressed by formula II is reacted with a compound expressed by the formula R3a-NHNH2 in water or alkanol at room temperature, or a compound expressed by formula III is reacted with ammonia in water with refluxing in the presence of ammonium sulfate to obtain the compound expressed by formula I.
