Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a copolymer which is improved in properties such as a glass transition temperature, modulus, tenacity, low creep, etc., by using a copolymer having a repeating unit derived from a specific compound and a repeating unit derived from a tetrafluoroethylene.
CONSTITUTION: 65-99 mol% (hereinafter %) of a perfluoro-2,2-dimethyl-1,3-dioxiol (A) and not less than one co-monomers (B) selected from not more than 35% of a tetrafluoroethylene, not more than 30% of a chlorotrifluoroethylene, not more than 20% of a vinylidenefluoride, 15% of a hexafluoropropylene, not more than 30% of a perfluoroalkylvinylether, etc., are copolymerized in the presence of a free radical at a temperature suitable for an initiator to obtain an amorphous polymer having a repeating unit represented by formula and 35-1% of a repeating unit of -CF2 -CF2- derived from the tetrafluoroethylene and also having a single glass transition temperature of not less than 140°C.
