To provide an amorphous metal composite and a method for producing the same.
An alloy is heated to a high temperature higher than the liquidus temperature. When the melt at a high temperature is cooled, dendrites are formed in the melt by the density distribution of the alloy. When the remaining melt is cooled to a low temperature lower than the glass transition temperature, the melt is solidified into the amorphous state and a two-phase structure in which crystalline particles are present in an amorphous metal matrix is formed. The ductile metal particles have a particle diameter of 0.1 to 15 μm and a particle spacing of 0.1 to 20 μm, preferably a particle diameter of 0.5 to 8 μm and a particle spacing of 1 to 10 μm. The volume percentage of particles is 5 to 50% and preferably 15 to 35%. The dendrites of the ductile metal phase in the amorphous matrix can be oriented by directional cooling.
