Abstract:
To provide an ampho-ionic polymer having high absorbency of seawater, saline solution or an aqueous solution containing an electrolyte such as blood, sweat or urine, and to provide an electrolyte solution absorbent using the polymer.
This ampho-ionic polymer is obtained by polymerizing a blend monomer comprising (A) 10-99.995 mol% of an ampho-ionic vinyl monomer, (B) 0-89.995 mol% of a non-ampho-ionic vinyl monomer and (C) 0.005-1 mol% of a crosslinkable monomer. The electrolyte solution absorbent using the polymer is also provided.
