To provide an amplifier two out of four output terminals of which are normally short-circuit-connected and which decreases reduction in the power efficiency when no short-circuit connection is executed.
The amplifier includes: resistors R1, R2 respectively inserted between a left channel inverting output terminal 10 and an operational amplifier 2, and between a right channel inverting output terminal 12 and an operational amplifier 4; switches SW13, SW14 located in parallel with the resistors R1, R2 respectively and short-circuiting/opening both the terminals of the resistors R1, R2 respectively; a comparison section 43 for respectively comparing voltages of the output terminals to which the resistors R1, R2 are inserted; and a switching control section 44 for controlling the switching operation of the switches SW13, SW14 on the basis of a result of the comparison.
