PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify an apparatus, and to perform an anaerobic treatment efficiently, in an anaerobic treatment apparatus for treating fat-containing waste water discharged from an edible oil production factory or the like.SOLUTION: An anaerobic treatment apparatus for treating fat-containing waste water includes an acid formation tank and a methane fermentation tank. In the anaerobic treatment apparatus, a fat adsorbent is provided in the acid formation tank, and the fat is decomposed, while holding the fat adsorbent in the acid formation tank.
