PURPOSE: To improve design freedom and power generating capacity of a clock and simplify and facilitate its assembly, by installing a multi-layer film type solar battery.

CONSTITUTION: A solar battery substrate 26 of plastic film is attached to a metallic dial plate 27 and a power-generating layer 25 integrated with power- collecting electrode and amorphous semiconductor is formed on the plate 27. By this arrangement, design of the clock becomes available with facility due to freedom from restrictions imposed by a solar battery and further, by using a large-area solar battery without requiring series connection of a small-area solar battery, power-generating capacity is increased also and assembly of the clock can be made simply and easily.
