PURPOSE: To utilize a display device for easy and accurate hour striking and to perform date display by controlling the hour striking on the basis of the carry signal of a 60-scale counter for minutes counted by a duodecimal counter for hours, and counting days on the basis of the output of the duodecimal counter and displaying the result.

CONSTITUTION: The 60-scale and duodecimal counters 12 and 13 for minutes and hours are driven fast through switches M and H, etc., to make a time adjustment over observation on the display device 8'. A gate circuit 21 is opened at a just o'clock by the carry signal of the counter 12 through an FF20 to start the hour striking and the circuit 21 is closed by partial signals of the contents of the counter 13 of a comparator 26 and an hour strike counter 25 to carry out the hour striking easily and accurately. On the other hand, the display device 8' which is not used except during a time adjustment for the easy and accurate hour striking is utilized for data display including forenoon/afternoon display through a binary counter 29, 31-scale counter 30, duodecimal counter 31, etc., driven associatively by the output of the counter 13.
