Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve an analysis precision by using a rubidium ion as an internal standard when analyzing lithium by the ion chromatogram method.
SOLUTION: In an ion chromatogram method, a sample injected into the separation column of a weal acid cation exchange resin and an ion is developed by an eluent. In this case, rubidium(Rb) ion is used as an internal standard ion since the Rb ion does not exist in a lithium analysis sample, the retention time of the Rb ion does not overlap with that of other ions that coexist in lithium and the sample, and the analysis value of the Rb ion is corrected with a lithium ion analysis value. The analysis value is detected by electrical conductivity and is obtained from the ratio of the area value integration of the retention time, thus greatly reducing the scattering of the analysis value and reducing an error in repetition measurement by setting the data-reading sheet of an electrical conductivity detector to 10 Hz or larger and hence drastically improving the analysis precision as compared with the conventional analysis method.
