To obtain the subject coating material capable of providing a coated cloth with corrosion resistance and antimicrobial properties, harmless to human body, by compounding a quick-drying oil of white cedar leaf containing antimicrobial hinokitiol with a camellia oil as a nondrying oil in a specific ratio.

This coating material is obtained by compounding an oil of white cedar leaf with a camellia oil in the volume ratio of 1:(2-4), preferably 1:3. The coating material is preferably mixed with any of various pigments not to oppose the effects.
