Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain the subject transparent composition, comprising an antiperspirant compound such as an astringent salt, a borate cross-linker, a surfactant and a carrier comprising water, having phase stability without substantially whitening or fouling skin and clothes after application and effectively applicable to the skin. CONSTITUTION: This gelled or solid composition containing (A) about 1-40 wt.% antiperspirant compound, (B) about 0.5-10 wt.% borate cross-linker, (C) about 0.5-70 wt.% surfactant and (D) a carrier comprising water and has a pH of about 2-6. A nonionic surfactant having about 10-18 value of HLB or its blend is used as the ingredient C and the composition preferably further contains (E) 0-50 wt.% any hydrophobic compound such as an aliphatic hydrocarbon, an aliphatic (8-22C) alcohol, an aliphatic alcohol benzoate ester, a siloxane, a water-insoluble ether or a water-insoluble ester.
