Abstract:
NEW MATERIAL:An anilide derivative of formula I (X is lower alkyl or halogen; n is an integer 0,1 or 2; R1 is H, cycloalkyl, etc. which may be optionally substituted by a lower alkyl; R2 is phenyl, halogen, furyl, etc.).
EXAMPLE: N-β-Cyanoethyl-3'-chloro-3-methyl-2-thiopenecarboxanilide.
USE: An agricultural and horticultural germicide having a control activity against blast and helminthosporium leaf spot of rice plants.
PROCESS: A compound of formula II is reacted with a compound of formula III to give the compound of formula I.
