Abstract:

To provide an animal feed for ruminant in which cereal bran or cereal ground product as the feed raw material can be effectively used in an increased amount by performing modification treatment on the cereal bran or cereal ground product by removing and reducing organic phosphorous in the cereal bran or cereal ground product which inhibits the effective use of the cereal bran or cereal ground product in an increased amount.

When the cereal bran or cereal ground product is used as the animal feed raw material, the cereal bran or cereal ground product is subjected to washing treatment with an aqueous solution containing a chelate compound including carboxylic acid or carboxylate to thereby remove or reduce the organic phosphorous in the cereal bran or cereal ground product, whereby cereal bran or cereal ground product which can be added to feed in an increased amount is produced. The chelate compound used for the washing treatment for removal and reduction of organic phosphorous in the cereal bran or cereal ground product includes citric acid, succinic acid, phthalic acid or EDTA, or a salt thereof.
