Title:
ANIMAL SERUM LOWERED IN PROTEASE ACTIVITY AND INHIBITOR ACTIVITY
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS63313578
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
The addition of animal sera to cell cultures has adverse effects on the activity of the cell proteins to be isolated. The invention thus relates to a process for the treatment of an animal serum in which the serum is treated with at least one nucleophilic agent. The invention also relates to a serum treated by the claimed process and to the use of this serum as additive to a culture medium for cell cultures. The negative proteolytic and inhibitory properties of the sera are selectively reduced so that the activity of the proteins to be isolated is retained to a high degree when the sera according to the invention are used.
