Abstract:

To obtain an excellent electromechanical characteristic by incorporating in a prescribed ratio a ceramic phase consisting of a specified lamella connected each other and a penetrated phase formed in a region between the lamella connected each other.

A slurry consisting of ceramic particles such as lead zirconate titanate (PZT), water, a binder and a dispersant are subjected to freeze-drying to prepare a ceramic preformed body and subjected to sintering to convert into high density. Then a polymer such as urethane resin is subjected to impregnated forming to the ceramic preformed body and the preformed body is heat treated, and an anisotropic 3-3 connecting type ceramic-polymer composite material in which the laella connected each other occupies about 5-80vol% of the composite material, a lamella connecting property of (z) direction is larger than that of (y) direction, the connecting properties of (x) and (y) direction are equal, and consisting of the ceramic phase having about ≤200μm lamella width and the penetrated phase occupying about 20-95vol% of the composite material and formed in the region between the lamella connected each other and having about ≤500μm width is obtained.
