Title:
ANISOTROPIC THERMOELECTRIC MATERIAL, RADIATION DETECTOR USING THE SAME, AND POWER GENERATION DEVICE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2011181725
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To provide an anisotropic thermoelectric material having an anisotropy having a large Seebeck coefficient and obtaining a large crystal along a surface having the anisotropy for achieving a high radiation detection sensibility and a high electric-generating voltage in power generation.

The anisotropic thermoelectric material has a stratified perovskite type crystal structure shown by chemical formula Sr5Nb5O17 and periodically laminating block layers consisting of NbO6 octahedrons in five layers in the (c) axial direction, and has an absolute value of 40 μV/K or more in terms of a difference between the Seebeck coefficients in the (a) axial direction and the vertical direction to the (a) axis. The high radiation detection sensibility and the high electric-generating voltage in the power generation are achieved by such an anisotropic thermoelectric material.
