Abstract:
PURPOSE:To form an anodic oxide film having satisfactory practical characteristics on an Al alloy casting when the casting is anodically oxidized, by removing the casting surface of a contact part of the casting brought into contact with a power supplying jig so as to adhere the casting to an electrode as the jig and to improve the electrical conductivity. CONSTITUTION:A cylindrical Al alloy casting 1 has an internal normal structure 8, a fine grained structure 7 formed on the surface of the structure 8 by a pouring and a chilled layer 6 formed on the structure 7 by rapid solidification. When the casting 1 is brought into partial contact with a power supplying jig 4 before anodic oxidation, the casting surface of a contact part of the casting 1 is shaved off and the jig 4 is brought into contact with the shaved surface 3. The casting 1 is then anodically oxidized. By this method, current density in constant-current electrolysis can be increased without producing a burning on the surface of alumite, current efficiency is improved and a uniform film is formed.
