Title:
ANTENNA AZIMUTH ANGLE ADJUSTING METHOD
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH11239015
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To easily and securely sets the azimuth angle of an antenna to a target satellite and to receive a signal from the satellite by adjusting the shadow of a marker, formed with the sunshine when the antenna is directed to the satellite on a map printed on the antenna surface, to the presence place.

The setting is done at noon when the sun 100 comes almost to the south. The antenna 31 is slanted to the sky first so that the sunshine 100 impinges on a marker means 33. To perform reception in Osaka from, for example, the satellite JCSAT#3, the marker means 33 is directed to the sky so that the shadow of the sunshine 100 comes almost to Osaka on the map on the surface of the antenna 31. Thus, the shadow of the sunshine 100 positioned to the true south is adjusted on the map and then the antenna 31 appears to be slanted from the true north by the azimuth angle to the satellite 35, so that the azimuth angle of the target satellite is considered to be specified. Then the tilt angle is set to a given graduation after the azimuth angle adjustment and then adjustment is carried out while the signal is actually received.
