In this receiver, an earpiece section 200 incorporating an earphone and a chip antenna AN2 and a cord 300 are placed in a mobile phone body 100 having a diversity reception function. When the cord 300 is not connected to the mobile phone body 100, using a main antenna AN0 and a sub antenna AN1 of the mobile phone body 100 can conduct diversity reception. When the cord 300 is connected to the mobile phone body 100, employing the antenna AN0 and the chip antenna AN2 of the earphone section 200 placed apart by a sufficient distance can conduct diversity reception.
