To provide a tilting mechanism and a rotating mechanism which can tilt a flexible element and rotates on a horizontal face, is size and excellent in durability.
A spherical part 8 is rotatably housed in a base 4 by being urged it by a coil spring 14 via a ball receiver 13. When a flexible element is extended to the base 4 and tilted, the spherical part 8 is fit in a sliding groove formed at a ball holding part 7 of the base 4, and the element can be tilted to about ±90° with respect to the base 4. When the element is tilted, an engaging ball 15 is engaged with a ring-shaped recess 8d formed at a ball 8c of the spherical part 8, thereby obtaining a clicking feeling. Further, when the element is returned to an upright state, the engaging ball 15 is engaged with an engaging recess 8e of the spherical part 8, thereby obtaining a clicking feeling.
