Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide an array antenna possible for containing the characteristic that it fits to standard with a wide band, a small dimension and a polarized diversity and having the reduction of the number of supply points per antenna element.
CONSTITUTION: The array of round conductive pieces 56 and 58 is formed on a dielectric substrate 54. The adjacent conductive pieces are formed on both sides of the dielectric substrate. The conductive pieces on the opposite side form double funnel slot lines and an electric field generated between the two conductive pieces generates the impedance of a wide range, which matches free space. A radiated electromagnetic wave having polarization on the orientation of the slot line is generated by exciting the conductive pieces. Thus, the single array of the antenna elements 52 can be used in a multifunction system.
