To manufacture an antenna system inexpensively with less number of components in which only a rod antenna element and a helical antenna element connected in series act like an antenna section while the rod antenna element contained retractively in the case of a portable radio equipment is extracted and only the helical antenna element acts like the antenna section while the rod antenna element is contained in the case.
A rod antenna element 4 and a helical antenna element 2 are made of a continuous metallic wire material and a feeder metallic fixture 7 is made up of a leaf spring 8 clipping the metallic wire elastically, then components such as a connection metallic fixture or the like to connect the rod antenna element 4 and the helical antenna element 2 are not required. Furthermore, the helical antenna element 2 is covered by a mold cap 3 integrally, then the man-hours required to mount the mold cap 3 is omitted.
