Abstract:
NEW MATERIAL:A compound expressed by formula I [R1 is H or methyl; R2 is nuclear substituted benzyl or 4-pyridilmethyl; R3 is H, or R2 and R3 are joined to form (nuclear substituted phenyl)methylene].
EXAMPLE: N-(p-Methoxybenzyl) D788-7 (D788-7 is 10-hydroxy-13-deoxocarmi- nomycin).
USE: Antitumor agent.
PREPARATION: An antibiotic D788-7 expressed by formula II obtained by culture of streptomyces D788 strain (FERM P-7703) is used as a raw material and, for instance, dissolved in mixed solution of choroform-methanol, acetic acid is added, then hydrogenated cyanoboron sodium and p-methoxybenzaldehyde are added, thus reacted at room temperature for 4 hour with stirring to obtain the exemplified compound.
