Abstract:
NEW MATERIAL:The compound of formulaI(R is H, group of formula II W formula IV, etc.) and its acid addition salt.
EXAMPLE: 13-Methylaclacinomycin A (a compound of formulaIwherein R is group of formula IV).
USE: Antitumor agent.
PROCESS: The exemplified compound can be prepared by culturing Streptomyces galiloeus MA144-M1 (FERM-P No.2455) or Streptomyces galiloeus ATCC14969, etc. in a nutrient medium. The other compounds of formulaIwherein R is other groups can be obtained from the above compound by reduction, partial hydrolysis, methanolysis, etc.
