To provide a new anthraquinone colorant compound containing a copolymerizable vinyl monomer.
The thermally stable red anthraquinone colorant compound is represented by formula I [wherein, R denotes hydrogen or methyl group; n denotes 2 or 3; and Q denotes a copolymerizable vinyl group-containing organic group] and contains one or more kinds of ethylenically unsaturated photopolymerizable groups copolymerizable with an ethylenically unsaturated monomer in order to produce a colored composition such as a colored acrylic polymer, a colored polystyrene and similar colored polymeric materials derived from other ethylenically unsaturated monomers. The compound possesses excellent stability to ultraviolet rays, good solubility in vinyl monomers and an excellent color density and thermal stability. Furthermore, acrylic polymeric materials having one or more kinds of the copolymerized colorant compounds, i.e., polymers obtained from acrylic esters, methacrylic esters and/or other copolymerizable vinyl compounds are provided.
