Abstract:
NEW MATERIAL:Anthraquinone compds. of formula I wherein R1 and R2 are each H, a halogen, hydroxyl, an alkyl or amino; R3 and R4 are each H, a halogen, an alkyl, an alkoxy, an aryloxy, an aryl, cyclohexyl, a 4-alkylcyclohexyl, a carboxylic acid ester or a carboxylic amide; X and Y are each O, S or imino; n is 1 or 2.
USE: An org. resin polymer is used as a film base and 0.01W10wt% anthraquinone compd. of formula I is added to said polymer to obtain a polarizing film. The polorizing film has excellent polarizing performance, transparency and resistance to heat, moisture and weather.
PREPARATION: An anthraquinone compd. of formula II is reacted with a compd. of formula III to obtain the desired compd.
