To obtain an anti-anginal agent which contains, as an active ingredient, a nitroxy derivative having strong collateral vessel-dilating action with no first-pass effect and weak toxicity and reduced side effect such as headache.
This derivative is represented by formulas I and II [A is a 2-6C alkylene substituted with a 2-5C alkylene; B is a group having -NHR1 (R1 is H, a 1-6C alkanoyl); D is a 1-5C alkylene; E is a 5- or 6-membered ring amino where when A is a 2-6C alkylene, B is the formula: -NHR1a is H, a 1-6C alkanoyl]], typically 1,1-ethylene-2-nitroxyethylamine. A compound of formula I is obtained by reducing a compound of formula III (A1 is an alkylene substituted with a 2-5C alkylene; B1 is a protected amino group) followed by nitration of the product of formula IV.
