Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an anti-caking agent capable of preventing blast furnace granulated slag or a size-controlled product thereof from caking over a long period during its storage and causing no drop of the mechanical strength of hardened forms produced using such slag or size-controlled product thereof after stored as an aggregate for concrete. SOLUTION: This anti-caking agent for blast furnace granulated slag or size-controlled products thereof comprises an alkylene oxide adduct of an aliphatic oxycarboxylic acid and/or salt thereof, which is prepared by adding the corresponding alkylene oxide to the aliphatic oxycarboxylic acid and/or salt thereof in an aqueous solution of the aliphatic oxycarboxylic acid and/or salt thereof in the presence of an alkali catalyst; wherein the aliphatic oxycarboxylic acid is a 4-8C one, and the aliphatic oxycarboxylic acid and/or salt thereof is at least one selected from gluconic acid, glucoheptonic acid, tartaric acid and sodium salts thereof.
