To obtain a lactobacillus preparation or a fermented food capable of preventing the onset, relapse or recrudescence of gastritis or gastroduodenal ulcer caused by Helicobacter pylori as an inflaming bacterium.
The anti-gastritis agent, anti-peptic ulcer agent and fermented food are obtained by selecting 2 strains or Lactobacillus salivarius WB1004 and Lactobacillus brevis WB1005 among the preserved strains belonging to the genus Lactobacillus originated from the human, both of which manifest effects of (1) suppressing the attaching or fixing of Helicobacter pylori to gastric cancer cells, (2) suppressing the production of interleukin-8 having a relation to an inflammation from gastric cancer cells depending on the amount of the Lactobacillus cells and (3) suppressing the infection with Helicobacter pylori in an experimental system using aseptic mice, and containing them as main active ingredients, and thus, can prevent the onset, relapse or recrudescence of gastritis or gastroduodenal ulcer caused by Helicobacter pylori as an inflaming bacterium.
