Title:
ANTI-GLARE FILM AND IMAGE DISPLAY DEVICE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2009122371
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To provide an anti-glare film sufficiently suppressing degradation of visibility due to whitening or glaring, and having excellent anti-glare performance of preventing reflection, and to provide an image display device using the anti-glare film.

The anti-glare film includes a resin base film 101, and an anti-glare layer 102 having an irregular surface, which is laminated on a surface of the resin base film 101. The anti-glare layer 102 is made of a transparent resin 104 having light diffusing particles 103 dispersed therein, and the light diffusing particles 103 have a non-spherical shape having an aspect ratio of 1 or more, the aspect ratio being represented by Lmax/Lver, wherein Lmax is the maximum length of a project plane when the particle is projected so that the projected area is minimized, and Lver is the maximum length of the project plane in a direction orthogonal to the Lmax direction. The irregular shape on the surface of the anti-glare layer 102 is formed by an embossing method using a metal die. The image display device uses this anti-glare film.
