To provide a composition and a method for treating ischemia, and a molecule related to hibernation states.

There are disclosed the composition and method for treating ischemia, and the molecule related to hibernation states; namely, a method for evaluating hibernation states of animals at various time points during the hibernation period is disclosed. Also a fact is disclosed in the specification that the dormant animal is liable to survive while coming to wakefulness in the initial stage and the late stage of hibernation, not in the medium stage thereof. Further a fact is disclosed that the plasma fraction obtained from the dormant animal in the initial stage of hibernation, not in the medium stage thereof, exerts influence on the ischemia in a rat model, and contains molecules usable for treating ischemia. These molecules are indicated to contain FPA (fibrinogen A) and derivatives thereof, and bradykinin and derivatives thereof, in the specification.
