To provide an antireflection film which ensures satisfactory cleanliness, a polarizing plate using the antireflection film, and a liquid crystal display with the antireflection film or the polarizing plate.

The antireflection film has at least one hard coat layer and a low refractive index layer situated in an outermost layer on a transparent support. (a) A center line average roughness Ra of a surface of the above optical film is ≤0.15μm. (b) The above glare-proof hard coat layer contains one or more kinds of large size particles. (c) Each average particle diameter of the large size particles is ≥80% of the thickness of the hard coat layer, and the particles separately satisfy the expression (1): 0μm≤dMAX(maximum particle diameter of particles, μm)-dAV(average particle diameter of particles, μm)≤7μm.
