Abstract:
To provide an anti-rotation mechanism for a closed piston, three-passage torque converter that mitigates or eliminates rattling during operation.
This anti-rotation mechanism includes a cover 110 having a radial inner surface 112, a drive plate 80 including an annular plate, and a piston plate 130. The piston plate has an axial inner crown 132, a front annular edge 133, an axial skirt 138, and a back annular edge 139. The cover 110, drive plate 80, and piston plate 130 are operatively arranged to rotate about a transverse axis of rotation. The piston plate is attached to the cover or the drive plate such that the piston plate is axially moveable and rotationally immovable relative to the cover.
