Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide a new macromolecule having both the anti-thrombogenic property and an affinity for cellulose by fixing a carbohydrate derivative having the phosphorylcholine group or its functional derivative on the face of a regeneration cellulose film to be brought into contact with blood.

CONSTITUTION: A carbohydrate derivative having the phosphorylcholine group or its functional derivative is fixed on at least the face of a regeneration cellulose film to be brought into contact with blood to form an anti-thrombogenic regeneration cellulose film. A solution containing the carbohydrate derivative having the phosphorylcholine group or its functional derivative is applied to the regeneration cellulose film, excess solution is removed, then the derivative is fixed to the regeneration cellulose film. The anti-thrombogenic property is sharply improved, the permeability of the film is practically maintained, production is easy, the reagents thus used can be easily removed, and an economical film having high safety is obtained.
