To provide an anti-thrombus material and a method for the manufacture thereof, having the capability of eliminating the need of an auxiliary factor, maintaining freedom from being neutralized due to a platelet factor and activating a platelet, and keeping independence of long-term hemorrhage.
This anti-thrombus material is made of a carrier having a functional group where hirudine or the derivative thereof comes to have a covalent bond so that an obtainable material has substantially the same bio activity as hirudine. The carrier may be a naturally and synthetically generated copolymer similar to a membrane. a tissue and an organ. Furthermore, the hirudine or the derivative thereof may be directly bonded to the functional group of the carrier through the functional group of amino acid residual group, or using a bonding group.
